Rule #329: Prostitution

Vietnamese and Chinese mafia are increasing operations in brothels in Toronto, Canada. They traffic in women from Southeast Asia. Agents pay recruiters up to $8,000 for a woman, who then sell the women to pimps for about $15,000. Agents take 10% of the earnings beyond the original contract. The women are forced to service buyers’ 12 hours a day, 400 buyers or $400,000 to pay off their debt. Women are abused and terrorized, being beaten and reportedly burned with hot irons. (Rob Lamberti, "Sex Slaves: Fodder for Flesh Factories the Women Earn Nothing But Tips Until They Pay Off Their $40,000 Contracts," Toronto Sun, 10 May 1998)

Making prostitution illegal doesn't make it stop. It just keeps in on the streets and unsafe. Girls put themselves at risk every day. Many are forced to work for shady pimps or johns. They get ripped off, raped, beaten and murdered. It's all because they work in an industry that we continue to keep in an unregulated, dirty, illegal underworld.
Prostitution NEEDS to be legalized! It's the responsible thing to do. It needs to be taken off the streets and put in regulated, clean, protected and taxed businesses. In this situation, the workers are protected and regular government inspections ensure workers and employers are operating responsibly.

Legalizing and controlling this industry could put all the A-hole loser johns and pimps out of business and get these girls some respect.
Also, in an ever increasingly multicultural society where diversity is preached in every organization, what better industry is there for diversity and inclusion? With all the fetishes men have, there's a place for every woman to work. From black to white, big to small, young to old, pregnant.... whatever.  There's someone out there that requires your services.

In the new world, prostitution will be legal and controlled to be enjoyed by all.

AND SO IT SHALL BE WRITTEN!

  2. Interesting stat... eight of the worlds ten safest countries (Canada ranks 4th in 2112, 8th in 2011), are also the eight countries with the most civil liberties (Only exceptions being Ireland (T. 6th) and Slovenia (8th). Now, libertarian or not, the numbers show you can't ignore such an obvious fact, which is this; give people freedom to choose what to do with their own bodies... otherwise, their will always be someone to find a way to exploit them anyway... criminally.

  3. I can see where you're coming from on this but I have to disagree. By legalizing prostitution it is sending the message that it is ok to have random sex with anyone at any time. It is telling our girls that sex is no longer to be shared by 2 people and done lovingly, rather that it should be done with anyone and is to be taken lightly. I think we need to go back to explaining the physiological purpose of sex and the emotional impact that it has on people. If we legalize it, more people will engage in it and the idea of sex will become "well, its just sex", mind you this idea already exists due to television and what have you.

    1. I admire you morals. However, the fact is, it really is the oldest profession. It will always exist. I can't stand the thought of anyone being abused. I think legalizing will help protect and give these women some options instead of keeping them in the shadows.

  4. I partially agree with the comments and I agree with the rule; although there's a fine line. I think it's such a tough subject. On the one hand it should be legal for sure because, like you said, it can then be regulated in a clean And safe environment. The thing is, would anyone willingly be a prostitute ... All these girls controlled by pimps and johns are prostitutes against their own will really, right? So if it were legal, would anyone willingly sign up ... On the other hand I feel it could be better, cause just like the porn industry there may be women and men that enjoy being involved... And those that enjoy the anonymous sex can do so. I guess a good rule ... But I do get the concern of parents... But kids are always exposed to crazy crap and if we take the hype away and educate them I'm sure it'll be ok ...
Lov'in this blog -- very thought provoking

    1. Your right. Many of these girls are forced to do this against their will. If it were legal, dudes would go to a legal, clean, safe environment instead of risking getting caught and busted or ripped off by some pimp. That in itself could put the abusing pimps out of business.
Thanks for the compliment on the blog. Very glad your enjoying it!
